• Where can I configure wireless to be passed on to the Virtualbox guest?

  I have WinXP install in virtualbox which host in Linux. I have a TP-Link (TP-WN321G) USB wifi adapter and have the driver installed inside WinXP. When I plug-in the wifi adapter, there is an option show "Ralink 802.11g WLAN [0101]" in the virtualbox's USB icon, tick on that option, the Device Manager able to detect the hardware which shows TP-Link, but when look into the properties, it says there is no driver was install. I did try to install Ralink driver but still no luck. Just curious why my wifi adapter is TP-Link, but the option show Ralink? May I know how can I emulate the wireless network inside WindowsXP?

• Can't connect to Wireless Network - Ubuntu 12.04 LTS & Sabrent A111N USB Dongle

  I've been trying to connect to this network for quite some time. I can't directly connect to the router with a Wire, but can access the Router with other wireless devices without any issues. I had previously tried several other Wifi nic's but none of them would load properly. Today, i went and bought a new (supported) Sabrent A111N USB Dongle, which said explicitly that it works with Linux 2.4 +. I popped the Dongle in, and low-and-behold it immediately said that there were Available Wireless Connections. I selected my connection and tried to connect, but it just loops constantly while saying Wireless Disconnected then attempts to connect again over and over. ifconfig and iwconfig both show my device in a ready and working state. However, iwlist wlan0 scan says that there are no results found. I don't get it... At one point, I could see the CPU in the DHCP client list under the router, but it doesn't fully make the connection (something about a timeout?). Any help would be appreciated.   End-users want content at their fingertips at the speed of thought if possible. When running search operations in the WebCenter Conter Web Interface every second or fraction of a second improvement does matter. When doing some trace analysis on the systemdatabase tracing on a customer environment, we came across some SQL queries that were unnecessarily being triggered! These were related to determining the folder path for every entry part of the search result set. However, this folder path was not even being used as part of the displayed information in the user interface.Why was the folder path information being collected when it was not even displayed in the UI? We found that the configuration parameter 'FolderPathInSearchResults' was set to 'true' under Administration > Admin Server > General Configuration > Additional Configuration Variables as shown below:When executing a quicksearch by keyword we were getting 100 out of 2280 entries in the first page of the result set.When thera 'FolderPathInSearchResults' configuration parameter is set to 'true', the following queries appear in the systemdatabase tracing:100 executions for a query on the FolderFiles table for each of the documents displayed in the first page:>systemdatabase/6       12.13 11:17:48.188      IdcServer-199   1.45 ms. SELECT * FROM FolderFiles WHERE dDocName='SLC02VGVUSORAC140641' AND fLinkRank=0[Executed. If the documents are further nested into the folder hierarchy, additional hundreds of queries may be executed. If folder path is not being displayed in the end-user interface profile, your system may be better of with the 'FolderPathInSearchResults' configuration parameter disabled.

• Laptop is super slow on network

  So on our network we have a bunch of wireless macs and window Operating laptops, we have a network setup with 802.11g,b,n. All the laptops seem fine except one which is only getting speeds of 54Mb. I have changed the encryption from AES to TKIP and reset the connection, i have updated the drivers, tried plugging it into the LAN and still same slow speed. Apparently the laptop with the slow speed is fine on other networks. I don't know what to do, can anyone help me?

I have been unsuccessful setting up anything other than Windows PCs on the network (I have tried Macs, iOS and Nokia SmartPhones too). Thanks for the responses in advance!

  I tried to remove fs icons from my system and i get the error E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily unavailable) E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it? what is the problem???.....
